COMMUNITY (as defined by the Webster’s 1828 dictionary) –A society of people, having common rights and privileges, or common interests, civil, political or ecclesiastical; or living under the same laws and regulations.Â
To the point of Webster and his definition of COMMUNITY, we are praying our teen finds a group that shares the same values and faith in Jesus; a group of peers that encourage one another with pure hearts and are united with single-mindedness on the hope of Heaven. We’re praying our teen will find a solid circle that is grounded in their beliefs and unwavering in their faith.
Â
Is this even possible? The world is crazy!
Â
With God, all things are possible to the one who believes.Â
Â
I can tell you what IS impossible: me trying to manufacture and push my teen into the circles I think she should be part of. Me trying to interview all the possible options of friend groups, chart their motives, and forecast the probability of their future choices as being wise. Â
Â
THAT is impossible. Â
THAT is a yoke that needs to be removed and replaced with a yoke of trust and petition to God.Â
Â
This has to be God-work. My job is to pray them into good circles by partnering with God and war against the enemy on their behalf. This is how we steward our children–our GIFT from God–well.Â

Let’s look at different topics from the Thompson Chain Reference Bible and perspectives from which to view praying for our teen’s COMMUNITY. (For more help with using a “Tommy Bible”, here’s a video on how I use it for making prayer Bibles.)
