the Selah way Story

I’m Kori.  Daughter of the King, wife, mother, creative.  Selah Way Sisters started with prayer request journals.  These journals were designed to be a gathering place for all the requests that come up, both personal and requests from other people.  I often felt insecure in my prayer life, lacking fancy words, complete thoughts, or scripture memorization.  After hearing “pray the promise, not the problem” in a sermon, I began to chew on that for the better part of a year until the need for a collective spot for writing down requests from friends merged with the need to focus on God’s word more than I was focusing on the situation at hand. 

Early 2022, the Lord blessed me with the idea of creating what is now the Selah Way Sisters Prayer Journal: A journal for intentional prayer.  This shift in my prayer life radically changed the way I approached life and how I pray for other people and I had to share the practice with others!

Six months before this, in May 2021, I was reading through the Bible cover to cover.  I found myself highlighting so many scriptures that spoke about God’s desire to heal us.  In September 2021, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and a friend sent me a prayer sheet that had been created for her when her husband was going through his cancer battle.  To my astonishment, the overwhelming majority of those scriptures were already highlighted in my Bible!

It was in this moment, I knew the Lord had me on this journey of searching His word with the intent on changing my whole prayer life.  Scripture truly became my lifeline during those months of unknowns and through that season, the Lord grew in me a faith and trust in His word that I can’t put into words. 

When a friend’s daughter was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor a few months later, my heart sank and the ONLY thing I knew to do was to share the scriptures that had just changed my whole perspective on life.  I immediately got a Bible, wrote prayers on sticky notes, highlighted verses, and dropped it off to her. 

By August of 2024, this prayer Bible journey exploded into what you see now with dozens of color schemes, highlighter colors, coordinated kits, tons of topical research and PDFs, a YouTube channel, and a Flag Aligner™.
