REJECTION – (as defined in the Webster’s 1928 Dictionary) – noun
The act of throwing away; the act of casting off or forsaking; refusal to accept or grant.
It comes in all shapes and sizes, deserved and undeserved, by exclusion or through comparison. Rejection is a slimy little lie that so easily creeps into a teen’s mind, they hardly notice it’s there at all, until one day, that little pin prick of a wound grows into full blown self-hatred, unforgiveness, pride, or a critical spirit of themselves or others.
We can’t protect them from every fiery dart of rejection that’s fired their way but we can fervently praying parents to proactively guard them by calling on the Lord to spring forth a heart that is rooted in knowing how much God loves, accepts, and sees them.
Rejection, if left unattended, can launch forth a web of sin bigger than Spiderman. Praying our teens are quick to forgive, confident in how much God loves them, and are eternally focused is a great place to start.
Let’s pray practical prayers they can use to combat rejection and fight against any lasting effects the hurt may create in their hearts.
