GUIDANCE (GUIDE) – (as defined in the Webster’s 1928 Dictionary) – verb
To lead or direct in a way; to conduct in a course or path; as, to guide an enemy or a traveler, who is not acquainted with the road or course.
To influence; to give direction to. Men are guided by their interest, or supposed interest.
To direct; to regulate and manage; to superintend.
As the guardian and protector of our teen, we naturally desire to guide them in their decision making and we hope that we’ve done a decent job thus far teaching them about right, wrong, and how to respond in unexpected situations. We hope!
Let us remember that God has a path for them. A journey planned before the formation of the earth. They will make mistakes along the way but the LORD wants to be their lifeline in times of need. And He’ll use us as His vessel with which to speak through at His choosing, so remember this:
Ultimately, His heart is for our teen to grow closer to Him, learn to hear His voice, heed His commandments, and gain experiential knowledge of His goodness.
Our job is to pray all that happens. We fight these battles on our knees. We support the will of God in our teen’s life through Word-wielding, promise-claiming prayer for them to hear the GUIDANCE of the Lord throughout their journey.
